By the end of this lecture, students should: 1 • Be able to differentiate between Intercultural and Multicultural approaches to diversity. • Have a good grap of the meaning of culture and society and state the main components of culture • Define Inter-cultural Communication Pedagogy • Have a good understatnding of the term nationalism and how it represents a barrier to inter-cultural communication 2 • State the main differences between religions . Explain how can religion be a barrier to inter-cultural communication. . Differentiate between Fundamentalism and Sectarianism. 3 . know the relation between colonialism and racism . Define colonialism and race . Understand the idea of race in the British Empire.
